2007-2008 Tryouts
Requirements:

Current sports physical which is good for one year.

Parent permission form ( This form must be notarized.)

First time athletes at Lewis must have a copy of their birth certificate on file.

Maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher throughout the winter sports season.
Tryouts will be held at Lewis Middle School. Be at the field by 1:55 p.m. You will not be allowed to reenter the school after practice so plan accordingly. You will need soccer socks, cleats, and shin guards. All tryouts and practices will end at 4 p.m. unless otherwise announced. A warm jacket and filled water bottle are recommended. Have your ride pick you up no later than 30 minutes after practice end time.
CRITERIA USED FOR TEAM SELECTION
INTRODUCTION: The goals of the Lady Falcon Soccer Team are:
1. Be good students and citizens of Lewis Middle School.
2. Demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship.
3. Have fun practicing and playing the game to the best of our abilities.
Keeping these goals in mind, the coach will select the team and determine who represents the school in games using the following criteria:
TEAM SKILLS: While on and off the field, team skills include:
1. Positive support of teammates
2. Hustle (practice at game speed)
3. Sportsmanship
4. A positive attitude in success and failure
5. Listening (to coach and teammates)
6. Willingness to follow directions and attempt new tasks
7. Responsibility
FALCON PRIDE: While on the field you are a representative of Lewis Middle School. Off the field you will be a representative of the Lady Falcon Soccer Team. You are expected to demonstrate outstanding behavior at all times. Discipline or behavior problems in the locker room, in the classroom, or any time you are representing the school are not acceptable. Input regarding student behavior will be solicited from teachers and administrators. Detentions and suspensions are discouraged. You will need a 2.0 first quarter GPA to be eligible to try out, however, current grades in any class of "D" or "F" are below grade expectations for team members.
ATHLETIC DEXTERITY: General athleticism; the ability to quickly and easily learn and perform athletic tasks.
SOCCER SKILLS: Running, kicking, passing, defending, receiving, and knowledge of game play.
