Lewis Middle School Girls Track--- 2008
Try-out Information Sheet
Player Expectations

The following information outlines the criteria the coach will use when
choosing the team during try-outs and determining who will play during the
season. Each expectation is equally as important as the others. This track team
is an extra-curricular activity sponsored by, and representing Lewis Middle
School. Each player is viewed by others as an official representative of the
school.

Criteria used for team selection:
(Goals of the Lady Falcon Track Team)

1. BE AT PRACTICE, HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE, & NO WHINING!
2. Have fun practicing and getting in TIP TOP SHAPE for your event
3. Be good students and citizens of Lewis Middle School
4. Demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship

Keeping these goals in mind the coach will select the team, and determine who
represents the school in events using the following criteria:

Team Skills: While on and off the field

- Positive support of teammates
- Listening to the coach
- Hustle (PRACTICE AT EVENT SPEED)
- Willingness to follow directions and attempt new tasks
- Sportsmanship
- Responsibility
- A positive attitude in success and failure

While on the field you are a representative of Lewis Middle School and off the
field you will be a representative of the Lady Falcon Track team. You are
expected to demonstrate outstanding behavior at all times.

Input regarding student behavior will be solicited from teachers and
administrators.

You need a 2.0 first quarter GPA to be eligible to try-out, however, current grades
in any class of D or F are below grade expectations for team members.

Athletic Dexterity: General athleticism; the ability to quickly and easily learn and
perform athletic tasks.

I AM EXPECTING TO HAVE A GREAT TEAM WITH A POSITIVE ATTITUDE. COME
OUT AND BE READY TO DO YOUR BEST.

“YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO UNTIL YOU TRY!”
