Make sure uniforms are in EXCELLENT condition.  Judges look at how the chorus looks on stage as well as how they sound.  There is no excuse for not having a uniform in good condition.  The uniform grade is worth 100 points.  Each item not met to my satisfaction is a deduction of 25 points.

1.      Hair (girls) must be up and off the face and neck.
boys need to have hair groomed and out of the eyes.  Judges want to look at their vocal posture.

2.      No jewelry other than the pearls or an all state pin ( top left side of dress or vest).  Girls may have small stud earrings.

3.      Black dress shoes ( closed toe and heel, no or little heel)/black socks/stockings(girls)

4.      Dresses and pants should be hemmed at the appropriate length/ right at the top of the shoe

5.      Tux shirts—pressed/no wrinkles

6.      Vest and bow tie are dry clean only/ vest should not be wrinkled

CHAPERONES—WE NEED 6--I NEED A COUPLE TO ARRIVE BY 10:45 TO HELP WITH UNIFORMS/ REHEARSAL.  The others just need to be here when we load at 11:20am

Students will not be allowed book bags on the bus.  No i-pods or cell phones will be allowed in the performing venue.  If a student brings such items they will need to be left on the bus which may not be secured during the day.  It is best to leave them in their locker until we return. Students may bring a book to read in between listening to other school choirs perform.  I will have my cell phone for emergencies.  My number is 850-598-4507.  I will check it periodically throughout the day.

The Lewis Middle School Choral Department recently presented their Winter Concert at First United Methodist Church of Niceville.  The music was a blend of old and new seasonal selections.   Larry Lord and Andrew Griffin provided instrumental accompaniment on trumpet and classical guitar. The choral program consists of High Flight, Encore and the 5th Grade Chorus. The choruses are under the direction of Shirley Andrews.  Ann Jolly serves as accompanist and Cheryl Settle is head choir parent.  Lewis is fortunate to have wonderful chorus parents who help fund raise, volunteer at chorus sponsored school activities and chaperone at all choral events. In addition, families brought a new toy as their entrance fee.  The toys were donated to the Child Advocacy Center.  Here are some photos of the big night!
