Lewis is once again a highly rated school in Florida

The Council for Educational Change and The Florida Annenberg Foundation ranks Florida school based upon FCAT performance. The newest rankings using the 2005 FCAT performances show Lewis Middle School as a very highly ranked middle school in Florida.  The information listed at www.just4kids.org aims to enable parents, teachers, and administrators to find information about current student performance levels at your school compared with the highest performing schools with similar student populations in your state.

FCAT Is Good News For Okaloosa Students

Fewer struggling students, more high performers as Okaloosa Schools set new achievement record

Okaloosa students and schools are doing better than ever in reading, writing, and mathematics, according to results of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test released today.

In all categories, scores were higher than county students had previously posted in any of the seven years the state has assessed academic performance with the FCAT. The improvements came during a year when the Department of Education is including the learning gains of ESE students and ESOL (non-English speaking) students for the first time in the calculation of school grades.
