Fewer struggling
students, more high performers as Okaloosa Schools set new achievement
record
Okaloosa students and schools
are doing better than ever in reading, writing, and mathematics,
according to results of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test
released today.
In all categories, scores were
higher than county students had previously posted in any of the seven
years the state has assessed academic performance with the FCAT. The
improvements came during a year when the Department of Education is
including the learning gains of ESE students and ESOL (non-English
speaking) students for the first time in the calculation of school
grades.
