LEWIS AND LOCAL ENGINEERS JOIN FORCES!

With a $5,000 grant and help from local engineers, Lewis Middle School students will now be able to participate in the STEM  (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Program, a collaborative pre-engineering program that works with universities and/or local engineering businesses to engage in research, career discovery, hands-on engineering projects, and field trips dealing with math and science.  Lewis also has incorporated Language Arts and Social Studies into the program which provides for a well-rounded, real-world learning experience.  Engineers from Eglin Air Force Base and local engineering firms will meet with students before each STEM project for question and answer sessions.
