Jazz Band Earns Superior Rating!

The Lewis Middle School Jazz Band recently participated in the District One Jazz Music Performance Evaluation Festival held at Crestview High School. At the festival a panel of judges certified by the Florida Bandmasters Association listened to jazz bands from schools in Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Escambia counties. Bands were evaluated on a comprehensive list of musical criteria and each judge provided comments as well as an overall rating of Superior, Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor. The Lewis Band received straight A’s in every musical category and a rating of Superior from every judge. Mr. Tredway is the band teacher here at Lewis Middle School.
