Student Absences -1. To fully benefit from the instructional program, students are expected to attend school regularly, be on time for classes, and satisfy all course requirements. Poor attendance or excessive tardiness may result in low or failing grades.

2. Absent calls -
Parents should receive an automated call if their student is absent or signs in late.

Required Attendance -

1. If a student is not in attendance for ninety (90%) percent of the instructional time required for each course, the credit for the course might be withheld.

Excused Absences -

1. Absent all day -
For an absence to be excused, the student must bring a note from his / her parent to the front office within (3) days of returning to school. The note must include the student's full legal name, date of absence, reason, and a parent signature. Then an excused slip (color light green) will be given to the student. Thus he will go to each teacher at the beginning of the period, and get it initialed, asking if he / her has any work to be made up.

2. Absent part day -
Late arrivals to school follow the same guidelines as absences. Parents should accompany their child to the main office and sign them in, or give a note to the child signed signed by the parent explaining the tardiness to school, which in will be presented to the office. Any student who is a late arrival at school must always check-in through the main office before reporting to class.

Tardiness to Class -

1. Students are allowed two (2) tardies per semester.
2. After three - Four (3-4) tardies per semester, the teacher may assign extra work or a detention, and the teacher will notify the parent.
3. Five tardies or more per semester, an office referral will be given to the child. An unexcused tardie is considered misconduct. The parent of the student who is habitually tardie to school or any class will be notified of such tardiness. The matter will be handled by the parent and/or the school administration.

Cafeteria
Lunches are provided in the school cafeteria for $1.40. If students bring lunch from home, they are encouraged to bring healthy foods and fruit drinks. They may buy extra milk or juice for $.25, these drinks are half pints. Other drinks like Powerade, Minute Maid, Frutopia, Water, Orange Juice, Apple Juice, Nestle Tea cost a $1.00 extra, these drinks are 16 oz. NO food or drinks will be allowed in the halls or classrooms. If parent(s) / guardians buy food, or bring food from home and wish to eat it with the student, they may eat it in the front office conference room, commons area, or other suitable areas. Teachers will assign the students a specific seating at each table.

Each student will be assigned a pin number to his / her lunch account. At any time students may add money to this account to for lunch. The number will be punched in as the student exits the launch line and the charge automatically is deducted form the students account. Breakfast is also served. Applications for free and reduced lunches and Breakfast will be given to all children during the first few days of school. Additional applications will be available form the secretary at the main office.

Lockers -


Hall lockers -
1. Lockers are rented at the beginning of the school year for your advisory teacher at the cost of $3.00. DO NOT SHARE YOUR LOCKER COMBINATIONS WITH ANYONE!
2. Books, Clothing, and personal property left in lockers are the responsibility of the individual and not the school.
3. Any student who has a locker that does not close properly should report this to the office.
4. Anyone who abuses lockers in any way may lose their locker privileges.
5. Forfeiture of lockers will result from stickers and writing on inside of locker. Scotch or masking tape will be allowed to secure pictures, etc. in lockers.
6. Upon reasonable suspicion, lockers or other areas are subject to search for prohibited or illegally possessed substances or objects.
7. Unsecured personal items are the responsibility of the individual.
8. Backpacks must be small enough to store in lockers without damaging the closing mechanism.

Transportation -

Buses are provided for students living outside a two-mile radius of the school and students in a hazardous walking zone. Students who need to ride a bus other than the one to which they are assigned should bring a request from their parents or guardian to the office for an approved signed bus pass. It is recommended that students be at the bus stop 10 minutes before they schedule time for the bus to arrive. Students are not to drive automobiles or motorbikes onto school property. Automobiles cannot use front and side bus ramps while buses are loading and unloading.

Dress Code -

Appropriate student student grooming and dress are primarily the responsibility of the student and parent. However, in adopting a code of student dress, it is the intent of the school board to insure that students personal hygiene, appearance, or dress is such that it does not disrupt or interfere with the educational process or endanger the health and safety of the support or others.

1. General -
A. Appropriate length of clothing
B. No hats
C. Clothing with inappropriate slogans, pictures, or text is not permitted.(Ie, Alcohol, drugs, racial remarks, violence, or sexual connotations)
D. Shoes or sandals must be worn at all times
E. Hair must be clean, and not interfere with a students vision. Unnatural colors are not allowed. No beards or mustaches may be worn to school.
F. Tank tops, muscle shirts are not permitted. Clothing should cover the shoulder.
G. Pants should be worn at the waste.
H. Dog chains or heavy wallet or watch chains are prohibited
I. Clothing must be worn in the manner it was intended to be. (Overalls must be worn over the shoulders, etc.)

2. Personal Grooming For All Students Who Voluntarily Participate In Extra Curricular Activities
A. Students who voluntarily participate in activities that require certain uniformity in personal grooming may be required to groom themselves in a more moderate fashion during the time that they are participating in the particular activity.
B. Approved sport uniforms may be worn on designated days when participating in the activities approved by the principle.

Unauthorized Areas (examples)
1. Students arriving at school before 6:45 are to report to the cafeteria or other designated area's. Students are not to go to their locker or be in other hallways until 6:45
2. All students must be in their assigned classrooms during class periods unless a teacher or administrator has giving them a written pass. The pass must have the student's name, date, time the student left the classroom, and the teacher or administrator's signature.
3. Students should have a pass or be accompanied by a teacher if they leave the lunchroom during lunch.
4. When school is over at 1:35 P.M., Students are not allowed in the building unless under the direct supervision of a teacher, coach, or sponsor of a specific activity. Unsupervised students in the building before or after school hours are subject to disciplinary action.

Lost and Found
Lost and found is in the front office. Students may come up and look for their items. After a certain period of time, all cloths will be washed and given to charity.
