Well here's a chance for your talented fifth grade student to
participate in advanced science concepts in a pre-engineering technology
lab!
Lewis Middle School is offering a science enrichment program to study and
experiment with high tech physics and engineering concepts. Topics for
curriculum will include:

Life
Physical &
Chemical
Earth & Space
Scientific
Thinking

Science enhancement is critical and this accelerated
program will provide a real hands-on opportunity to advance their knowledge.

Whenever possible the students will learn
about the science topics by observing demonstrations or designing and conducting
experiments using the scientific process. The purpose of the explorations
will be to gain a better understanding of the technologies that are around us
ever day.
Science
is fun! 
Who may participate in the
program?
Gifted fifth graders from all Twin Cities and Eglin elementary
schools are invited to sign-up for this unique and exciting learning opportunity
which will take place prior to their regular school day.
What days and times will
the program be held?
Families can choose between Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday.
Friday is an optional day designed for project enrichment on an as desired
basis. Class will be held from 7:15-8:10 AM.
How does my student get to
the program?
Transportation is provided at no cost. Buses will be picking students up
at designated hubs and bringing them to LMS. After class, students will be
bussed to the elementary school they attend for their regular school day.
Once interested students have signed up for the program, a transportation plan
will be made to accommodate everyone. However, parents are free to provide
their own transportation if desired.
How much does the program
cost?
Free! There is no fee to participate and no cost for any materials.
Does my student earn a
grade by participating in this program?
This class in not for credit and your student will not receive a grade.
Your participation is voluntary and if you decide this program is not for your
student after beginning, please just let us know. This program is designed
for knowledge enrichment.
