Welcome to a Day at Lewis Middle School!

We wanted to show you what a typical day at our school is like.  Pictures will be taken and updated during the school year.  Watch for new additions.

Morning
When 8th graders, Tanner Hansen and Andrew Place arrive at school it is often just becoming light. This morning at 6:30 AM fog lays in the air as they raise the flags.  It is their job to put them up each morning,

Our secretary, Mrs. Cheryle Foraker left Lewis to accept an exciting opportunity to work at the Okaloosa School District main office.  Taking her place in the office is Mrs. Tara Mitchell.  Below, Mrs. Foraker bestows the official crown which signifies the power change to our new "Queen of the Office."  We welcome Mrs. Mitchell to Lewis and look forward to working with her.

Peeking into the band window late morning.....                 It's lunch time at Lewis!  Here students enjoy their lunches
while catching up with their friends.

Near the end of the school day the flags                                  This year 8th grader, Brittany Trefurt and 7th grader,
are taken down for the evening.                                               Makayla Jenkins are in charge of the duty.  They are
careful to follow the procedures to ensure the proper

Mr. Tredway and the Lewis Band will often take advantage of the warm Florida sunshine to get outside and practice.  Here they are in the back parking lot playing.  The music radiates throughout the campus catching the ears of those left inside putting them in a "Lewis state of mind."

December 2005
Lewis Student Council ran a food drive to help the needy in our area.  The drive was a terrific success!  The photos below show some of the group, and Advisor, Mr. McElroy with some of the items collected. Thanks to all for your contributions!
